Poetry has spirit, article has spirit too. Similarly, the poster design should also have the "spirit." The "spirit" should focus on the attention of the audience, and be the core of the design, the finishing touch of the entire picture and the joint of the body and the spirit, also known as the visual centre. The audience move their eyes from the posters center to the surroundings, making the picture modeling factors into lines, then paving the surface, forming the whole; The visual can also gather together from surroundings, such as from deconcentration to concentration, from general to specific, from external to internal, from periphery to core.Color has artistic vitality, it will make people feel happy or unhappy, as well as the psychological feelings of like or dislike. In our life, we can use languages to communicate with each other, whereas in the field of design, color becomes the common language, with its unique symbol force and expressive power. So color in the poster design is one of the important elements of poster, for its harmonious, ideal and symbolic features.In this paper, the core issues are the visual psychology of the poster color and the "extreme" nature of the color. Around the core issues, it also involves in the design science, art theory, psychology and other academic knowledge. This Paper focuses on basic knowledge of color, color temperament, the importance of color design in poster design, visual psychology, color emotion, extreme visual psychology of color and so on. Color is a very important visual mental language in the poster design, it can help a designer create his own works, and the reasonable use of color in the picture is the key to the success of works.This paper attempts to discuss the design theory and practice of the use of extreme language in the graphic design from a new angle of vision, such as using large and simple black or white, or using extreme cold or warm colors and so on. It will further reveal the inherent laws of visual art design, shake off more unnecessary constraints in order to make the design work more dynamic, and closer to nature and humanity.
