"People 's Music" 1950-1955

This thesis takes People’s Music published from 1946 to 1049 and from 1950 to 1965 on as the object of the research. By using such methods as induction, generalization, measure, statistics and comparative analysis, the article mainly analyzes the publication background, the source of manuscripts, column constitution, content presentation and the relationship between editor, author, reader and periodical. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, both of the People’s Music established in Jiamusi city in Northeast China from 1946 to 1949 and People’s Music started after the founding of new China are music publications that were founded by Lv Ji and Xiang Yu and they mainly focus on publishing songs and music reviews, they have continuity in history. As the organ periodical of the Chinese Musicians’ Association, People’s Music has always been conveying the thought of literature and art of the Party and the State, reflecting the social activities and academic trends of Chinese music industry, organizing academic exchanges, introducing foreign music culture and developing music industry since September 1950. The periodical plays a huge role in guiding and promoting the development of our country’s music industry in the field of professional music, social music culture and so on in the early stage of the new China. People’s Music from 1950 to 1965 is a musical publication which gathers the political attribute, the academic attribute and the social attribute.
