The Military Provinces' Supply To The Huaihai Campaign In Shandong Province

The Huai-Hai Campaign is one of three decisive strategic campaigns between the Communist Party of China and the Nationalist Party(Kuomintang). In this campaign, the Communist Party of China concentrated the East China Field Army and the Central Plains Field Army to destroy almost 800, 000 Kuomintang army with almost 600, 000 troops and created a miracle in the history of warfare. This military miracle has a close relationship with the military food supplies of the Shandong liberated areas. First of all, the preparatory work of the Huai-Hai Campaign including the planning of the Huai-Hai Campaign, the level of agricultural production of the Shandong liberated areas in 1948 and the organization of workers in supporting the front in the Shandong liberated areas should be introduced in this dissertation.Secondly, according to the plan of the Huai-Hai Campaign, the military food needed in the front should be prepared in the Shandong liberated areas. Because the middle-south region of Shandong is near the front, the preparation of military food in the middle-south region of Shandong should be highlighted. The military food also was processed during their preparation.After the beginning of the Huai-Hai Campaign, the military situation had changed. To meet the needs of the warfare, the Shandong liberated areas had adjusted the military food supplies of the front along with the change of military situation. At the siege of Du Yuming, the East China Field Army and the Central Plains Field Army had a rest and regroup in time. And to meet the nutritional requirements of the army during the rest, the supplies of non-staple food such as cooking oil, salt and pork had been adjusted in time in the Shandong liberated areas. Finally, the military food had been transported in time in the Shandong liberated areas. Prior to the transportation work, the general situation of the traffic in Shandong province should be introduced. According to the actual situation at that time, the transportation work was carried out in many ways. In the later period of the Huai-Hai Campaign, because of the proper schedule of the General Front Committee and the logistics department of the East China Field Army, the transportation of military food had been completed successfully in the Shandong liberated areas.And there were so many exemplars and advanced collectives emerged in the transportation work of military food.
