Based on the research of the development history of New German Leipzig School, the works of painters and the style of the paintings, this paper studies the features of the artistic styles and aesthetic ideology of New German Leipzig School and mainly make an intensive study of the representative painters Neo Rauch whose paintings present the surrealist painting language in his mature painting style. There exists a same feeling between all the signs of this painting school and the development of China’s contemporary oil painting art. It is not difficult to find that China’s contemporary oil painter Zhong Biao’s paintings also present the features of the surrealist painting language through research, which makes it possible to make a comparative study of the contemporary art between China and Germany. New German Leipzig School has received success and the right of speech in the international art world, which provides a good reference for the theory and practice of China’s contemporary oil painting art. This paper spreads out from the following four respects:The first chapter analyzes the background of Leipzig School, and makes a brief analysis of the styles of the works of its first generation painters. Then combs the inherent relationship of New Leipzig School. Furthermore, appreciates and analyzes the styles of works of the third generation painters of Leipzig School.The second chapter mainly discusses the formation of the surrealist painting language in Neo Rauch’s paintings, which follows the German surrealistic enlightenment, leading to the surreal collage techniques in his representational pictures. On the basis of inheriting German traditional painting techniques and referring to metaphysical painting school and Futurism painting styles, Neo Rauch forms his own unique styles of pictures gradually mixing together with Contemporary pop art elements, which passes out of the features of surrealism painting that has a combination between reality and dreams. Then it focus on the analysis of the surrealistic paintings of Neo Rauch.The third chapter which follows the surrealist painting language, combined with China’s contemporary oil painting art, studies the surrealist language in China’s contemporary oil paintings. it systematically combes the profound influence of the surrealist painting in the development of China’s contemporary oil painting art. Finally, it makes an analytical investigation on the surrealist painting language in the artistic works of China’s contemporary artist Zhong Biao and Fang Lijun.The fourth chapter makes a diversification constrast between New Leipzig School and China’s contemporary oil painting art, which compares and summarizes from socioculturalbackground to the growing environment, educational background, painting style, artistic thought and artistic techniques of the painters, and has implications for the future development of China’s contemporary oil painting art in the key transitional period.Based on philology, this paper makes a research and analysis on the relevant literature information of New German Leipzig School and China’s contemporary oil painting art, which attempts to study the similarities between New Leipzig School and China’s contemporary oil painting art from the view of surrealism and makes a comparative analysis of the contents,thoughts and formal languages in the artistic works and the painting styles of the painters.
