Looking back at history, Germany "New Leipzig School" and "close-realist paintinggroups have gone through similar paths. They have similar growth and developmentbackground, major historical environment of their political, cultural, economic upheaval inthe1990s, from the time of it: Germany during the Cold War to the Eastern Europeansocialist camp disintegrated and then the fall of the Berlin Wall, Germany; thetransformation of China from a planned economy to a market economy as well as the fullrange of reform and opening up of the Chinese society. The tide of history on the creationof bilateral cultural development of the arts and artists of great and far-reaching impact.Sino-German artists during this period grew up mostly have the socialist art educationbackground-mastery of painting skills and adhere to the easel painting as a tool ormedium to express artistic thought.
