| The Cihai had been a comprehensive dictionary in a long time since published. Because of its rich contents, it seemed to be" all rivers run into sea ", for this reason, which was named the" Cihai ". From 1915 to 1936,the book was known for good quality and well received by the readers. After the founding of new China, the book was revised in order to serve as the country and people, this process from 1957 to 1979 lasted more twenty years. In that special historical period, Cihai’compilation linked with the national politics, the line between knowledge and politics becomed ambiguous in some extent. The paper intends to present the relationship between knowledge and politics from the process of Cihai 1979 vertion’compilation.The main contents divided into seven parts as follows:The first part:Through the Cihai’(1936 Edition) compilation,such as the background, the process, the publication to show the old version laid a foundation for the future revised Cihai, there were much useful experience could be absorbed,for example:the construction of the editorial team, the standardization of the compilation process, the written specialization, and the publishing sales provided and so on.The second part:Shu xincheng proposed a plan for revised Cihai achieved Mao Tse-tung’s high praise.In my opinion,this reflected the relationship between the old Chinese intellectuals and political relations. The author thinks that Shu xincheng thought revising Cihai to choosen a path serving as the Communist government. When the task is determined, from the establishment of organization to recruit personnel have been incorporated into the operation of the new regime system,which can also be thought of as the legitimacy of the process of Cihai revision.The third part:Under the following the old style and giving new meaning of socialism principle,from the Cihai’guiding ideology, target audience to revision of the task allocation, reflected the bright color of socialism.This also affected the Cihai revision,such as material selection and processing.The fourth part:Under the great leap forward situation the first draft came out. In the "cultural leap forward" windstorm, each compilation unit drivied speed, catch up with the progress, and thus made serious mistakes,especially added attention to the word of politics, and ignored the knowledge, which was particularly prominent, this situation in the mass examination reached its peak.The fifth part:the second draft were compiled on the basis of previous problems. The draft reviewed meeting proposed "six principles" as guidance outline were benefit to the Cihai’revision. Each compilation unit according to the specific problems in the second draft carried on the careful revision,so the second draft quality had been greatly improved and basically reached the official publication of the level, but ascribed the politics of influence, the vertion finally failed to publish.The sixth part:In the "Cultural Revolution", the Cihai was criticized as compound body of feudalism,capitalism.revisionism and viewed as the "poisonous weeds", authors were deemed the evil spirits,and they were unprecedented destruction; at the same time,the Cihai was also rewritten and the contains were twisted, until the end of the "Cultural Revolution",and the third Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee was held, thus Cihai to greet a bright spring again.The seventh part:from the draft to the official publication. Before the Cihai (1979 Edition) published, it is an internal circulation state for a long period of time. Readers were the persons who are related to the Cihai’compilation. During the period, although final manuscripts offered, but due to political problems, only a small amount of it issued, which can not meet the needs of readers. Thus, the formal public offering of Cihai which were greatly meet the needs of the general readers, but limited to the material conditions and technical level, which can not fully meet the expectations of the readers. |
