A Comparative Study On The Interpretation Between The1979Version Of "Cihai Language Volume" And The2009Version Of "Cihai"

As a large-scale comprehensive dictionary,"Cihai" combines dictionaries, languagedictionaries, and specialist dictionaries into one, and has a great influence in ourlexicographical sector. At present, the choice of words around the "Cihai", interpretation, andcodification history have obtained many achievements. But the systematic research betweenthe different versions of the "Cihai" in a field entry has not yet appeared. This thesis puts the890common words that both the1979version of "Cihai language Volume" and the2009version of "Cihai" have as the research object, making a comparative study on theinterpretation of these words, discussing the interpretation of scientific principles andsystemic deficiencies in interpretation existed in2009version of "Cihai", and puts forwardour own proposals to try to enrich the research of "Cihai".This thesis is divided into six chapters, and the chapter II, III, IV, and V are the main parts.The first chapter is an introduction, which includes review, research object and itsacquisition, purpose and significance of the research, and research methods.Chapter II makes a research and comparison with the interpretation way of1979version of"Cihai language Volume" and2009version of "Cihai". This chapter will divide theinterpretation way of common words in the two editions of "Cihai" into the following fivecategories: type of definition, description, interpretation with synonyms, type combined withdefinition and description, and interpretation way with the words "see,"detailed" and"reference", etc. Based on a detailed study, we compare the interpretation way of the commonwords in the two editions of "Cihai".Chapter III makes a comparison between the1979version of "Cihai language Volume" and2009version of "Cihai" in terms of the interpretation content of the common words. Exceptthe words with the same interpretation content, this chapter will divide the common wordswhose interpretation content change in two editions of "Cihai" into two categories. Theinterpretation content of words is different completely, and the other situation is that thechanges of interpretation content are not apparent. Due to the complexity of the latter one, thisthesis makes a comparison with interpretation content of the common words from the aspectsof main interpretation content and additional interpretation content. The contrast of maininterpretation content includes three aspects of the following, the changes of the semantic features, the changes of item, and changes in interpretation terminology. The contrast of theadditional interpretation content includes the interpretation of Notes and illustrations.Chapter IV makes a comparison with the common words of interpretation example on the1979version of "Cihai language Volume" and2009version of "Cihai ". The comparison ofinterpretation example carries six aspects into act. They are the change of interpretationexample, the increase of interpretation example, the deletion of interpretation example, thechange of expression or interpretation terms, the increase of the related interpretation examplecomponents and the deletion of the related interpretation example components.The fifth chapter makes a review on the scientific interpretation principle of2009versionof "Cihai", discussing its systemic shortcomings of interpretation, and put forward our ownproposals for these deficiencies.Chapter VI is a summary. This chapter inducts and summarizes the results of the study, andputs forward the prospect of the follow-up study.
