In the long history of film, the youth film cannot be seen as a type of film generally, but it is a universal phenomenon in film and culture. Chinese mainland youth film in the new century stepped into a new stage of development, with the gradual improvement of the investment environment and deepening in opening up. Diversified investment trend for the Chinese film industry contributed a great deal to Chinese film industry. “Youth film” has become a emotional symbol for those who went through social reform and transformation in order to express the feelings, materialized their thinking, or translate the youth memorized in current social culture into popular culture close to the reality. For people in film field, youth film is still in a stage where exploration and achievement coexist; for the ordinary audiences, it is a new life after suffering which would be eventually mature. Almost every year released youth films with different themes, highlighting the characteristics of youth and charm.This article takes all the mainland youth film of 2000-2015 as the research object. This paper based on the film theory, narrative theory, semiotics, communication theory and other related theory, using the literature research method, case study method, inductive and summary method, and other research methods, the youth film were systematically coming and commentary.This paper through the brief analysis of the concept of youth film and the history of the development of the evolution of the comb and the detailed analysis and interpretation of the movie theme, narration, visual language, film concept about the youth film, trying to extract the youth film has unique perspective and mature film idea.This thesis consists of six parts, in which the second and the three or four chapters are the key chapters of this thesis. In the introduction part of this paper simply introduces background and significance of this research topic, and systematically and exhaustively combs the research papers and articles related to this topic, and carefully summarizes the related papers according to the papers’ arguments, then explains the research methods and point out innovation of thin article.In the second chapter, the author interprets all the mainland youth film in 2000-2015 as the research object, and summarizes them, respectively, in detail the development of the youth, the emotion, the lost and so on. In the third chapter, through to the youth film narrative language,narrative structure, narrative skill three aspects of analysis, including the film in the shadow of the modeling, music expression, color tone of the presentation and montage tension, to explore the narrative style of the films. The fourth chapter analysis the implication of the youth film style,the analysis of the film in the individual self-awareness, true absence and lost, and the femaleconsumption view, classical symbolic images, the use of philosophy, aesthetics and theory of knowledge on the in-depth explanation of.Chapter five analyzes the conclusion and Prospect of the research, this chapter to the youth movie, development environment are summarized and the youth movie how to deal with problems in the process of the development of the analysis, to provide a reference for the future development of the mainland youth film.The conclusion part according to the current situation of the development of the mainland youth film, exploratory analysis of the future development of the Mainland Youth Film Road, put it on the stage of world cinema.
