| French composer Ravel plays the lead ing role on the piano m usic of Impressionism period. Piano music “sonatine” was composed by Ravel from the year of 1903 to 1905, the melody sounds very graceful and ch arming. Ravel co mbined traditional elements with Impressionis m harmony into t he sonata form. The composition shows the respect to the classi cal music of the co mposer. It contai ns three movements: Moderate, Minuet and Presto. There ar e three mai nly aspects to discuss through the essay which are the colo ur, dynamic and pedal. The aim of this essay is to provide some suggestions for the pianists who are playing Ravel’ s piano works of his early time. |
