"Surrendering Poetry" Surrealism Art

Before and after the industrial revolution, two world wars had broken out. In 1940s, Europe was barely out of artistic talents and new campaigns. While in New York, best museum, insightful painting-seller, rich collector who holding no prejudice and informed audiences had emerged, which has shown America’s huge inclusiveness. Many European artists came to America, all of this has facilitated the replacement of Paris, turning New York the capital of contemporary art. Surrealism, as an important art schools arising in the first half of the twentieth century, its influence has profound effect on European art activities. The influence on painting art is especially importance. At this moment, a team of outstanding painting artists had emerged.In contemporary of the twentieth century, there is an art master Rafal Olbinski, he has won numerous awards in the field of painting and design art. As for surrealism, he is always interpreting it by his peculiar art language. He has taken the "poetic" of surrealism to a new field; At present, the contemporary art has gradually shown the tendency of diversification, he has also constantly presented his much more rich and colorful surrealism to the mass society.Olbinski is engaged in the design of poster and illustration, in these jobs,he has blended into his own drawing creations. He did not drift with the tide to do artistic creation that is not belong to easel art; he did not fetter himself in the meaning of traditional surrealism, he has his own set of painting language to interpreted surrealism. "Poetic’is the artistic conception what he stride for in his works. His creations have not only the tranquil pattern of classical painting, but also the period feel that differ from the former; he did not restrict on easel painting, he organically bond painting with design, providing new findings for contemporary visual art. He respect previous art, and also integrate his artistic style and innovation into it. The "poetic" created by this picture has reminded people of "the common origin of calligraphy and painting" in Chinese traditional painting. Thus, this paper, as a foreigner, will experience Rafal’s "painting is poetry" art from a Chinese perspective. Meanwhile, this thesis will make a comparative study of Chinese "common origin of calligraphy and painting" with Rafal’s "poetic feature" in surrealism, which in order to lead inspiring consideration on the effect what surrealism put on Chinese contemporary painting.
