By using the methods of interview, documents and comparison study, in the aspects of the cultural history, education background, education concept and the dance teaching of the higher profession between China and the United States, the article analyzes the training objectives, curriculums, teachers’ qualification, teaching objects and teaching methods, etc. In the contrast and analysis, we find that in the limitation of our traditional dance teaching methods, teaching environment, the abilities of students’ creation, practice and innovation are affected greatly. The point of view is put forward that we should take example by American teaching idea of people-oriented so as to make a promotion of our dance teaching more scientifically and efficiently.It is every dance educational worker’s duty that we fully implement the dance teaching system which is appropriate for the characteristics of our country. Hope that by the analysis of the thesis, reference in theory and help in practice can be made to the development of the dance education career in our country.
