Shangshu is one of our country the earliest political history of literature compilation which records dating back 4000 years to 2600 years about ancient laws and regulations.the oath,the appointment of Yu. Xia, Shang, Zhou. It involves a wide range about politics, ideology, religion, philosophy, law, geography, history, military and other fields. But because of its content is full of difficult and unpronounceable words, the history of the study and annotation works abound in All previous dynasties. In Qing Dynasty, Wang Mingsheng completed their life into the book, Shangshu Houan that formed a situation of tripartite confrontation situation with Jiangsheng’ Shangshu Jizhu Yinshu and Sun Xingyan’s Shangshu Jinguwen Zhushu. three of the books are Shangshu exegesis indispensable works in Qing Dynasty. This paper takes Wang Mingsheng’s Shangshu Houan as the research object.In view of the previous people pay much attention to the historical achievements of Wang Mingsheng,they seidoni care about his of the classics works,SHangshu Houan.Not to mcntion someone studies comprehensively, systematically from exegetical perspective, on the basis of reading Shangshu Houan and reference to various works of predecessors, The author researches preliminary on exegetical content, exegetical methods, characteristics of exegesis and the exegetical disadvantages of Shangshu Houan.This paper has been divided into the following five parts:Introduction Introduce Wang Mingsheng’s life and Shangshu Houan related analysis. Shangshu Houan the research status and the paper’s research significance and research methods.Chapter I The exegetical content of Shangshu Houan, this chapter has five sections, namely words explanation, literal emendation, phonetic notation and interpretation of the words, rhetoric, explains the meaning that ancient laws and regulations, meibutsu and geographic conditions. Each category is divided into different categories. Each category is illustrated by examples.Chapter II The exegetical methods of Shangshu Houan, this chapter is divided into two sections, the former refers to the traditional exegetics mentioned general method, including explaining the word by glyph.pronunciation and literal meaning.The latter refers to five kinds of explanations summed up according to the particular case of Shangshu Houan, including accounting for the word by dialect. epigraphy, history, the context, analogy.For each exegetical method is analyzed by examples.Chapter III The exegetical characteristics of Shangshu Houan, this part has six points: first,the statements are based on accurate foundation;second,the materials and the quotation are vastly extensive; third, complying with Zhengxuan, keeping the statements trusted;fourth,said in a simple way but scrupulously;fifth,the explanations are based on the classics;sixth,explaining the word by epigraphy and history.Chapter IV The exegetical shortcomings of Shangshu Houan, One is in the exegetical content that describes with trivial details and lacks innovation;In addition,In the ideological concept,Wang Mingsheng is Too praise highly Sinology and Zheng Xun,as well,he criticizes other scholars harshly.
