Research On Dewey 's Artistic Education Thought

As a great educationalist, Dewey’s educational thoughts have not only built mode rn education in U.S., but also influenced the whole world. Dewey’s thoughts about art education are the most brilliant, which had provided theoretical guidance to solve pro blems of the alienation of arts and “Factory Model” in art education at that time. For i mplementing his own educational principles, Dewey established experimental school i n Chicago. The outstanding works Dewey had done in the school enriched and develo ped his theoretical system, and finally pumped the progressive education movement to its peak. The ideas put forward by Dewey, namely “Art as experience”, “Education a s life” and “Education as growth”, are completely new angle of view of modern educa tion, as well the theoretical guidance for modern school art education to cultivate stud ents with comprehensive experience.
