d minor chromatic fantasia and fugue is a great work written by Johann Sebastian Bach. This paper is aimed at compare three audio versions of this work in piano playing skills and playing styles. Trying to analyze the similarities and differences among Rosalyn Tureck, Alfred Brendel and Angela Hewitt in speed and rhythm, clause and structure, power distribution, tone control, grace note and arpeggio. Then finding out why they have different playing styles. This paper hopes to provide inspiration and theoretical basis for how to play the piano works of Bach and form our personal playing styles. |
