Nowadays, paper quilling is becoming increasingly popular and adored by many people. However, what we are short of are regulated instructions, theories and imaginative. Paper is among four great inventions of ancient China, and is closely linked to our daily life. It plays quite an important role both culturally and substantially. It deserves our effort to better promote its development.In this paper, focusing on the specific practice, author, using paper quilling’s production process as the entrance, solves the following questions, through the perspective of art:Part one, Author arranges and summarizes the development of paper quilling. In addition, author selects the representative works to summarize the unique charm of the paper quilling.Part two, combined with own practice, author states the characteristics of paper quilling. Additionally, author summarizes the production process of the paper quilling and analyzed the detail innovatively. Furthermore, on basis of the work, author analyzes the color matching, actual performance, and texture modeling through the attitude of art, so as to provide texture guidance of paper quilling development.Thirdly, in contrast to the domestic development of paper quilling and domestic market, author proposes the prospect for the further development of paper quilling.On the one hand, author presents attention parts of production process on the basis of production process. On the other hand, based on author’s works, author tries to analyze the works through the aspect of art, in order to infuse new blood for the paper quilling and provide theoretical guidance. In modern decorative paintings, paper quilling is an indispensable part. To better promote its development, paper quilling artists need more creation, exploration to bring past glory back of this ancient artistry and to foster its vigor and prosper future.
