A Study On The Female Writing Of Kuang Lisa 's Mainland

Nowadays, intercultural communication has become more and more often, there is more and more American literature about China. AS opening a new window of intercultural communication, those Chinese-American writers has become a focus. Being about Lisa See`s Mainland-theme literature, This thesis analyzes her idea about the history and reality of Mainland, and studies its value and meaning.Because of her life experience, Lisa See is interested things with Chinese elements. So she chose mainland and her female life experience as the theme. The female life and awareness in her works are not simple signs but objective and fascinating stories. She dug the female cultural creativity and self-expression. So the history of female in the Mainland, their living attitude, cultural creativity, and self-exploration became her theme in her works. She tries to build a harmonious relationships, which is consistent with Hélène Cixous`s idea. She wants to criticize paternity culture, creates a new way of female writing, and proposes female uses emotional language to express desire, focuses the gender concepts behind works, opposes traditional gender conflict, and builds new genders realationship.This thesis includes introduction, main body and conclusion.Introduction: States the research sources, explains the value and meaning of the study, introduces the current situation of the study, and discusses the female awareness theme.The mainbody is about 3 chapters.Chapter 1: From the theme, the thesis analyzes the reason that why Lisa See chose china as the theme from Flower Net, The Interior, Dragon Bones. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, Shanghai Girls,Dreams of Joy. These works are about female book, shanghai urban, cultural revolution and so on.Chapter 2: analyses she chose famale as her topic because of her own gender. Most of her works is about lesbian or other female relationship. This chapter tries to comb the female awareness in her works.Chapter 3: analyzes her writing features: professional, inherit former Chinese female writers, and compares her works with other Chinese novels about Chinese female, the tradition of American Chinese female literature, then strikes a responsive chord between western and eastern writers and shows the female awareness in her works.Conclusion: As a new representative of American Chinese female writer, her mainland-theme novels contain her female awareness writing. From literature, gender discourses and intercultural communication, we can see her own psychological demand. From this study, we think it strikes a responsive chord between writer, works and readers.
