A Study On The Rural Construction In The Bai Nationality Area Of ​​Western Yunnan In The Republic Of China

When you pay attention to the countryside, can you remember the hometown. It has been 70 or 80 years since the period of rural governance activity(including rural autonomous movement and rural construction movement) in Republic of China. Take the history as a mirror, it has realistic and contemporary significance to research this period history. The thesis focus on the rural autonomous and governance condition at western Yunnan province Bai ethnic region in the 1930 s and 1940 s. Especially, rural society has both atonomy and governance, Governance has wider range, and merely autonomy is impossible.This thesis has four chapters, the introduction includes the meaning and the reason of the chosen topic, literature interview, research methods, innovation points, concept definition of autonomy, governance, rural autonomy, rural governance and rural construction movement. The second and third chapter are main part of the articles, second chapter introduces the character Li zonghuang and his autonomous theory and activity. The third chapter focus on Xizhou rural autonomous and governance activity, businessman’s control the politics, and trade elites dominant the local construction. The third chapter evaluates the Bai ethnic region governance, from the basic characteristics and causes of autonomous practice. The forth capter is overview and evaluation, from cause and basic characteristics of the practice, the influence, the gain and the loss of autonomous practice, what we can learn from it.This thesis, based on the research of bai ethnic group region in western Yunnan province, learn from the predecessor, try to restore the truth of the history, to get the gain and the loss.(Such as the appraise of the Li Zonghuang and the gentlemen and businessmen in xizhou). The goal of this article is to provide the historical experience for the new rural construction.
