With the rapid development of China’s economy in recent years, exchanges in various fields between China and Thailand have been increasing in number. China’s influence in Thailand is growing. Therefore, the Chinese language in Thailand is also getting popular. In order to meet the growing demands of learning the Chinese language, the universities in northern Thailand has set up a Chinese language learning department at the undergraduate level.As people know, teachers are inseparable from the textbook. Textbooks are the basis for learning languages. Therefore, Chinese language textbooks became the key in teaching Chinese.Comprehensive Chinese Course is a core curriculum because the course is to develop the person’s skill of listening, speaking, reading and writing. Informational materials are directly used by teachers teaching the Chinese language to the Thai students. Selecting the appropriate materials could help students achieve better results in learning Chinese.This surveys were taken by 22 teachers in five universities that are teaching Chinese. We also asked 538 university students to take the survey. A total of two differentSurveys were taken:(1) How well do you correspond teaching from your experiences and teaching from the textbook? Was for the teachers, and for the students we asked, How well the teaching materials were utilized to make you understand the homework and language aspect in the materials.In order to understand how the Department of Learning the Chinese language in Thailand universities and colleges, we chose 5 universities in northern Thailand and asked the teachers to take our short survey.We used EXCEL and SPSS statistical software to put together the survey data. This is what we found.First, there was a lack of comprehensive textbook vocabulary. 2nd, there was shortage in the course materials. 3rd, the comprehensive textbook exercises are less than four, teaching materials of cultural knowledge lacks in the textbooks. Finally, they would like more photos in the books to help them visualize what they are learning. We hope that this study will change what Thailand universities and colleges are offering to teach; as the Chinese language is growing in demands of a part in Thailand.
