SUN Huifen is a female writer of not so many writers focusing on local writing since the new times. Unique local experience not only constitutes her source of creating inspiration but also enables her to make the local female characters under her writings characterized by strong reality and profound tragic color. Taking “local experience” as the core perspective, mainly applying feminist criticism, imagology, text reading and other theories and approaches, taking the image of female groups in SUN Huifen’s novels as study object, and through interpreting her local narrative text, this thesis tries to make further discussion of gains and losses of local experience in shaping female characters’ image in SUN Huifen’s local novels.Unique local experience enriches the female character types in SUN Huifen’s novels, which exhibits the wild and pungent character of southern Liaoning females and their unavoidable miserable fate. According to shaping of female characters and the local experience part, the female character image under SUN Huifen’s writings is generally divided into four categories: those indulged in city dream, mainly the local females extremely attracted by cities; watchers in the realistic wallow, in which loneliness and misery of women left behind in the urbanization process are mainly concerned; wild and pungent rebels, in which physical demands and spiritual transcendence of Kanto females are displayed, while in the image of ubiquitous suffering people, SUN Huifen presents shocking countryside tragedies one after another with icy death. O n the other hand, there are also restrictions in SUN Huifen’s works since she relies so much on local experience. The restriction of writing daily life in fragments, writing misery with stories and ambiguous moral judgment lowers criticalness and profundity of the works. While demonstrating the author’s relative rich local experience, writing daily life in fragments also exhibits her simple piling of local experience in her works; writing misery with stories expresses that the author, having been far away from local life is sensitive to miserable rural life, however, such frequent story-writing with emotional explosion also results in general and single shaping of characters, which lowers her reality critical strength; ambiguous moral judgement is generated from the author’s relative lacking of local experience and writing preference jointly, which makes the author more emotional than rational, and gradually deviate from the mainstream and in the civil position when presenting the local experience.
