Culture is an important factor for which the nation can stand up to all over the world. Yunnan is famous for its rich intangible cultural heritage of ethnic minorities. More than twenty ethnic groups thrive in this land for generations and create rich and colorful intangible cultural heritage. Therefore, it is a powerful witness to Chinese civilization development and becomes an important symbol of cultural diversity protection of China. In January 2015, president Xi Jin-ping, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China(CPC) Central Committee, has visited Yunnan and asked to build it as a demonstration zone for minority national unity and progress. As a key content of the national unity and progress, ethnic intangible cultural heritage industry should be one of the important demonstration content. Thus, it is urgent and necessary to study and establish an appropriate industry management mode of the ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan.Centered on industry management mode of the intangible cultural heritage of Yunnan minority groups, this thesis firstly introduces several common management modes in the world’s cultural industry. Then it conducts case analysis of several typical mode of the Yunnan’s ethnic intangible cultural heritage industry. Finally, scientific suggestions about establishing industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan has been demonstrated, based on basic knowledge of management, basic situation of Yunnan and requirement of actively serving national strategies.The whole thesis is divided into six parts, including an introduction chapter, four research chapters and a conclusion chapter.In the introduction, a clear scope of this research has been illustrated around such contents as the research background, significance and objectives, as well as overview on research status, framework and methods. It foreshadowed a good beginning of this research.The first chapter provides concepts and cognitive support of this research. Relevant concepts have been defined and several common management modes in the world’s cultural industry have been briefly introduced.The second chapter has proposed appropriate management mode of the intangible cultural heritage industry of Yunnan minority groups, based on analysis of three typical cases of intangible cultural heritage management in different rural settlements of the minority peoples in Yunnan. In particularly, development phases of the Yunnan’s ethnic culture industry since the foundation of the PRC have been revealed in detail.The third chapter has indicated new opportunities and challenges of establishing industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan, according to basic situation of Yunnan and the initiative of actively serving national strategies.The fourth chapter expounds feasibility of further set up of a local government dominant industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan, with new connotation, new concept and new thinking.The conclusion part has mainly refined and summarized research results on above chapters.Using the basic theory of public management, this paper has analyzed industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan by combining literature research method, field investigation method,case analysis and comparative analysis method, and puts forward the train of thought and way to solve the problem by searching and analyzing,guiding to solve problems existing in the management mode.This paper’s possible innovations mainly include:the first is arguing and proposing to establish government guiding industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan by using the basic knowledge of public management; the second is selecting the representative classic case in Yunnan accurately to compare and argue the significance of establishing the management mode guided by government; the third is dividing the development of industry management mode of ethnic intangible cultural heritage in Yunnan in stages for the needs to research; the fourth is corresponding the SWOT analysis method in the strategic management techniques.In this paper, the chief deficiencies are that papers about industry management mode of intangible cultural heritage are not so rich enough at the present time that few professional achievements for reference, and the research level of the author is limited so that the omissions are unavoidable, those will be made up in further research later.
