| A comprehensive, systematic and in-depth study of the history of ethnic areas can provide a reference and summary for us to deal with and solve the problems of ethnic groups. As one of the most influential Tusi of southwest China in Ming dynasty, the establishment, development and abolition of Sinan Xuanweisi has played vital function in pushing forword Guizhou’s provinciate, stability in southwest border areas, and consolidating centralization of Ming dynasty. The study of Sinan Xuanweisi helps us to know the relationship of ethnic groups in history, also can promots the ethnic groups’ s unity, development of economy and culture in ethnic areas and national reunification.This paper chooses Sinan Xuanweisi as case study based on relevant historical document, fieldwork information and academic discourse. The whole passage is divided into seven parts, and main contents are as following:The first part is an introduction part that introduces some key parts such as the reasons why the topic is selected, the research status, the overall thinking and research approaches, the key points and special difficulties, the innovation and deficiency.The second part introduces the geographic and historical background of Sinan Xuanweisi’s establishment-- the natural environment, cultural circumstance and history of Sinan. The karst landform reduced the arable acreage in Sinan area, which becoming an obstacle for development of agriculture. But the convenient traffic condition made Sinan a trading centre. The advanced culture and production technique was taken into this area with Han’s moving in, and this promoted the social development of Sinan. Sinan was ruled by Jimi in Tang and Song dynasty, when in Yuan and Ming dynasty, Sinan was ruled by Tusi, in this way, Sinan was strengthen managed by the central govenment.The third part presents and analyzes the establishment of Sinan Xuanweisi in Ming dynasty. Tusi system was inherited in Ming dynasty. The central government named Tians family Sinan Xuanweisi for consolidating the feudal goverance.In this part, straighting out the lineage of the Tian family, and to investigate its ethnicity with historical materials and Tians’ family tree. To summarize the setting up and hereditary of Zhangguansis that ruled by Sinan Xuanweisi.The fourth part discusses the development of Sinan Xuanweisi by retraying frequent interaction between the Ming central government and Sinan Xuanweisi, relationship with Sizhou and Bozhou Xuanweisi, and management in Sinan area. For various reasons, there were some unstable factors in the interaction with the central government, and was horrid to Sizhou xuanweisi.The fifth part is about the abolition of Sinan Xuanweisi. For enfocing management and stabilizing the southwest China, Ming central govenment abolished Sinan Xuanweisi and built Sinan Fu. The abolition of Sinan Xuanweisi speeded up Guizhou’s provinciate, which developed and improved the administrative system of Ming dynasty and had a far-reaching influence on later years.The sixth is the thought of Sinan Xuanweisi. According to analyzing the process, reason and influence of Sinan Xuanweisi find that its establishment has gained a stable environment for society’s development and it also restricted the development of society. The development and management of central govenment can promote economic stability and growth. The abolishment of Tusi system represents an inexorable law in the historical evolution. The immigrate policy in Ming dynasty promoted the process of different ethnic groups amalgamated into one.The seventh part is the conclusion of whole paper. In this part analyses that the Ming central govenment ruled Sinan area indirectly by establishing Sinan Xuanweisi, and ruled Sinan area and even Guizhou area directly by abolishing it, and had an important influence on development of society in southwest China.Overall, this research of Sinan Xuanweisi in Ming dynasty can help us to take this history as a mirror, to know the relationship in ancient China well, to deal with the ethnic groups’ problem, and to strengthen ethnic harmony. |
