| “A land and its water raise its people”.Sinan,a small county located in the remote area in Guizhou Province,is well known for its Festive Lantern Dance.The Sinan Festive Lantern Dance is a wonderful piece of art on this sacred land of Sinan,which is an art that combines singing,dancing and dramas.Its history goes back to ancient times.It borrows elements of the Tu Minority Nuo Opera,hand-waving dances,and local folk songs and forms its own characteristics.The unique ethnic styles that sway the people's beautiful vocals,rich local customs and blend lights in operas are reflected in this dance.It shadows the humanistic beauties in the Wujiang River ' s riverbank.Sinan Festive Lantern Dance is a representative of Guizhou Donglu Festive Lanterns and was first selected into China's national representative list of intangible cultural heritage in 2006.In this paper,field research,personal experience,folklore,ethnology,ethnomusicology,documentation other and related methods are used to study Sinan Festive Lantern Dance.The first chapter discusses its historical origin and development.Chapter two presents the performing form and contents of the lantern dance.The music in the lantern dance is analyzed in chapter 3,whereas chapter four explores the artistic features and the social functions of the dance.The last chapter summarizes the current situation of the development of Sinan Festive Lantern Dance from the perspective of non-hereditary inheritance and protection,and puts forward the author's views on the inheritance and protection of future lantern dance.This study explores Sinan Festive Lantern Dance from all angles and perspectives.It aims to discover the lantern dance resources and save the folklore heritage.Moreover,this paper enriches the recorded documents of Sinan Festive Lantern Dance,and appeals to people in China to pay attention to the lantern dance art and displays the charm of Sinan Festive Lantern Dance as well as promotes folklore culture and art. |
