According to Mr. Watt lv lang, “Film is the art of womenâ€. The female images from both abroad and local that took on different manner on the screen have played an important role in film history, and promoted the development of films. Social structure that has changed along with national policy changes since Reform and Opening play a vital role to the existence and development of Chinese women.Different from the old traditional Confucian concept on women that men are superior to women, a large number of outstanding female images jump into audiences’ sight.Influenced by western feminism, these women gradually get rid of the image of wife and mother under the patriarchal system, and open a new pattern in the awakening of female consciousness. They either save males who are in trouble or purse their life value through fighting for the right words in order to redeem themselves. Based on types of women salvation images under different times, this paper analyzes the significance of women’s salvation image according to text of the film creator, reveal the process of women’s consciousness construction, and put forward the corresponding strategy for women salvation images’ difficult position as well as make a deep reflection.This paper includes six parts, the first part is introduction, which elaborates the cause, theory, method of the study on the basis of document summary. The second part analyses women salvation images in different fields of vision since reform and Opening up. The analysis starts mainly from the perspective of male directors and female directors, with the purpose of sorting out the position of different women salvation images. It can be seen from this part that male director always narrate from males’ gender concepts and cultural awareness, while female director keeps digging the subject consciousness of female image.
