The United Nations has focused on the economic and social developmentproblems of the whole world, and tries to promote the development of all countries,especially developing countries.Since the beginning of the1960s, the United Nations made four ten-yearDevelopment Strategy, which emphasized on different aspects. These fourstrategiesalso reflect that the United Nations has deepened the understanding ofdevelopment issues.In the21st century, the United Nations established the Millennium DevelopmentGoals, which required developing countries to eliminate poverty, reduce childmortality, improving maternal healthand so on. Nowadays, the implementation of theMillennium Development Goals is about to end. Although developing countries havemade great achievements, there is still a great distance from the full realization of theMillennium Development Goals, especially in Africa.Admittedly, the Millennium Development Goals has made great progress,especially in China. China’s successful development experience is the sustained andrapid economic growthandgovernment leading.The United Nations Development Programmehas offered great help to Chinahelping China to carry out the Millennium Development Goals. It has chosen the rightkey aspect to drive the achievementof the Millennium Development Goals.However, the Millennium Development Goals has flaws of its own, whichinfluenced the realization. Therefore, in formulating future development agenda after2015, the United Nations will focus on climate change, poverty reduction and otherimportant proposal, and continue to promote the sustainable development of theworld.
