With the development of the economy and the improvement of the people’sliving standards, people has a increasingly requirement to the products’ quality andsafety. We all live on the food, but during recent years the food safety eventsfrequently occurred, which gave a big challenge to people’s faith in the food safety,and made the food safety supervision to be a hot topic.In order to rebuilt the consumers’ belief in the food safety, the Law of FoodSafety is issued in the year of2009, which was attempted to construct a entireprocess of supervision "from farm to fork", but it turned out to be minimallyeffective. With the accumulation of supervising experience, the governorsrecognized the importance of controlling the source of food safety, and introducingthe food safety traceability system from overseas. At present, China’s food safetytraceability system construction have made some progress, but it still exists a seriesof problems on the legislation aspect.By the comparative introduction of Chinese and American food safetytraceability system, the dissertation analyzes the enlightenment of Americanlegislation and supervising mode to China, then proposes the improving advises ofbuilding a effective food safety traceability system.Section one is preface, which introduces the background and significance ofthis research, proposes the objectives and research ideas, and defines the conceptionsrelated to this paper. Section two introduces the theoretical roots, basic principles,classification and essential functions of food safety traceability system. Section threepresents the American food safety traceability system, from two aspects ofsupervising mode and legislation, and find the enlightenment to China. Section fourintroduces the reform of supervisors and their authorities in2013, analyzing themeaning to the construction of food safety traceability system. And it mainlypresents the current situation of Chinese food safety traceability system and analyzesits’ defects. Section five comparatively analyzes the US and Chinese foodtraceability system and proposes several improving advises from legislationperspective, on the basis of learning from US experience. Section six makes aconclusion of this dissertation.
