Official morals, which mainly concern both politics and ethics, could be quite professionalas well as a comprehensive reflection of officials’ character. Currently, immoralities aresignificantly increasing, such as corruption, the temptation of beauty, gambling, prostitution, misconduct, extortion, and so on. These can have a negative influence on the interests of thepeople, the collective, and the country. Moreover, it may weaken the Communist Party’s positionand cause instability in China.Undervaluing heteronomy, process, restriction, and practice could be the major problemsexisting in the building of official morals. The reasons for these could be divided into three mainpoints. First, as most of the officials focus a lot on economic development, the moral charactermight be overlooked. Second, only a few of relevant laws have already been carried out, andbesides, most of these laws are imperfect. Last, the supervision mechanism of the official moralsis still incomplete.Under these circumstances, some possible solution are provided in this paper. First of all,the education of officials should be strengthened. Second, accelerating the legislation can play animportant role in the process. Third, the evaluation system on the official morals could be avaluable idea. Forth, the system of bureaucrat selection needs to be improved. It should be noted that as the official morals are extremely important in the construction ofsocialist spiritual civilization, speeding up its development can be necessary.
