Marx’s thought of political participation is an important part of Marx’s theory of democracy, which is a scientific theory and can guide the extension of citizens’ orderly political participationand the construction of Chinese socialist democratic politics. Discussion and research on Marx’sthought of political participation in this paper has three chapters:The first chapter mainly discusses Marx’s classical writer’s thought of political participation.Marx, Engels’s thoughts of political participation the product was not behind closed doors, buthas its theoretical and practical foundation. They advocated directly participate at first, butchanged to support the indirect participation later. Through the investigation of the practice ofParis Commune and parliamentary democracy, they put forward the basic principle ofrepresentative democracy of the proletariat. Lenin led the Russian people established the Sovietregime, and will Marx political participation theory into practice basing on the nationalconditions. Before the October Revolution and at the beginning of the victory of the revolution,Lenin mainly emphasized directly participate, but he gradually realized that it doesn’t work inRussia, so he advocated indirect participation. What’s more, he emphasized the need of highlycentralized power which played a great role in the face of domestic trouble and foreign invasion, consolidated the new socialist regime, but also led to individual despotism and corruption later inRussia. The second chapter focuses on Marx’s thought of political participation’s development inChina. According to national condition, the Chinese Communists actualized the sinicization ofMarx’s thought of political participation. This section elaborates on the people’s congress system, also the multi-party cooperation and political consultation system of Mao Zedong’s practice andtheory building. In the period of reform and opening up, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, Hu Jintaoand other Communist Party further developed these systems, proving that Marx’s thought ofpolitical participation have exuberant vitality. The third chapter reveals the Marx’s thought of political participation mistake of thinkingprofoundly learned and revelation. Though Marx’s thought of political participation have thescientific nature, it depends on the accurate understanding and application to play a guiding rolein practice. Wrong understanding of the Marx’s thought of political participation bias occurs notonly in theory, but also in practice, such as the practice of Lenin thought faced difficulties, thetumultuous Cultural Revolution occurred in China, the collapse of the Soviet Union and EasternEurope occurred in the early1990s. Reflecting on the past, we should treat Marx’s politicalparticipation thought by Marx’s attitude, treat other countries political participation theory and experience dialectically. At the same time, we should strengthen the orderly participation ofcitizens in political participation to improve the level of democracy.
