Perry Anderson is the famous historian, his academic thoughts and achievements played avery important role in British Marxism historiography. Placing Anderson’s historiography inFeudalism into the background of the mid-20th century British social transformation and thedevelopment of British Marxism history school, the author made a further and careful study onAnderson’s Feudalism thoughts.There are six parts in the thesis including the introduction、four chapters and the conclusion.The second and the third chapters are the center of this thesis.In the introduction, the author elaborated the situations of the external and internal researchon Anderson’s academic thought in feudalism and the author’s purports.In the first chapter, the author explained the political and academic background ofAnderson’s thoughts in Feudalism. According to the mid-20th century British society contextand the development of the historiography, the author analyzed the background of Anderson’sacademic thoughts in feudalism.In the second chapter, the author explained Anderson’s major theoretical results inFeudalism. Having examined Anderson’s academic fruits of the research on the origin、theconcept and the characteristics of the feudalism,but also the decision of the Social formation,theauthor showed his feudalism thought’s connotation and unique interpretations.In the third chapter, the author explained the characteristics of Anderson’s feudalismthoughts. Having examined the characteristics of Anderson’s research on feudalism,the authorshowed his attitude of seeking truth from facts and the apply of the structuralism methods on theresearch of Marxism historiography.In the forth chapter, the author elaborated the drawback and the values of Anderson’sthoughts in feudalism. According to the Anderson’s stance on the analysis of the social andhistorical issues,the author explained Anderson’s West-centric theory,and point out the value ofhis thoughts in the feudalism:expand the knowledge for the development of feudal society;richthe research on the tradition history of Marxism;understand the transformation of the modernsociety.In the conclusion, the author summed up Anderson’s thoughts in Feudalism and showed itserrors.
