Geopolitics, no doubt is a concept according with time. It distinguishes otherinternational politics theories from research of logic between geographical space andpolitical behavior under given productivity and technical conditions. Politics is a subjectwhich has closest connections with time, for its meaning of geographical space tohuman goes with different technical conditions. Therefore, it won't be too far to sayGeopolitics must attach to the development of times, or it will lost its meaning forfailing to combine theory with reality. This thesis aims to analyze and explainGeopolitical reality of northeast Asia with its historical background by StructuralTheory of Regional Geopolitics. According to the content and study method, this essaywas divided into six parts, the introduction part, four chapters of the main body and theconclusion part, the main content as follows:Introduction: Bring up the origin of this work, summarized and organizedachievements and documents which already existed in this domain. It is represented inthis work that the fundamental research methods, difficulties and deficits in which thiswork may occur, innovation in which this work may achieve.Chapter One: Theory exploration---historical developments of geopoliticalanalysis modeBy organizing and analyzing its historical developments of theory of Geopolitics,this thesis interpreted two main stages of developments of early Geopolitics: Naturalismmode and Space-Power Dual-Factor Reasoning modes and Summarized andconcluded their nature of those two theories. The latter two parts analyzed the core ofclassical geopolitical theory, laid a foundation of theoretical and backgrounds forproposing the structural geopolitical research perspective in the second chapter.Chapter Two: Basic core of Structuralism GeopoliticsAnalyzing the structure of world Geopolitics in different levels from threedimensions of global, regional and unit. The key point is to highlight the necessity and significance of regional Geopolitics research under new situations, and their dialecticrelations of those three dimensions in the structure of world Geopolitics. This chapteraims to offer the whole thesis a systematic explanation of concerns to region and seizethe relation between the other two dimensions and regions, for readers are able to betterposition the concept of Regional Geopolitics in a global system.Chapter Three: Elements which influence the structure of regional geopoliticsAmong all complexities geographical factors which affect geopolitics the most aregeographical location of one actor and the geographical distance between who react.Nation as the basic unit in international society, its all political behavior base on spacecharacteristics of specific geographical linkage. Space characteristic refers togeographical location, territory, continental and oceanic distribution and locationbetween one another. All these fundamental factors construct the formation of nationalpower and behavior mode. Basic factors of regional geopolitical structure: it isdemonstrated in three perspective, distribution and interaction among units, theformation of structure by geological linkage, and affects by superpower which is out ofthis region. Furthermore, integrate those three factors into structure of RegionalGeopolitics, probe into the constitution of structure and its decisive influence tointeractions among units in the region.Chapter Four: The structure of Regional Geopolitics in Northeast AsiaBy combining theory with reality and basing on geographical linkages tosummarize and analyze every single factor which influences the structure of RegionalPolitics. From regional and out-regional level, it is analyzed the geopolitical pattern andstructure of this region for seizing the geopolitical structure of whole Northeast Asia.Upon all those analysis which has been demonstrated, giving countermeasure suggeststo surpass geopolitical dilemma and achieve regional integration in the long run.Conclusion: This work proposed a perspective of taking geographical linkage asfoundation, regional powerful state as dependent variable, superpower as moderatorvariable which is out of the system, gave an outlook of problems of Northeast Asia andthe prospect of this region, demonstrated the deficiencies of this work and thepossibility to further this study.
