Mao Zedong Intellectual Thought is Mao Zedong as the main representative ofChinese Communist in succession on the basis of intellectual theories ofmarxism-leninism, combined with the concrete practice of Chinese revolution andsocialist construction the formation and development. Mao Zedong proposed thatintellectuals are mental workers, and belong to the working class. He fully affirmedintellectuals’ status and their important role in the history of Chinese revolution andsocialist construction. He emphasized the unity, absorption, education for intellectualsand promoted them. Many theories of Mao Zedong Intellectuals Thought are strategicand forward-looking, laying the groundwork for the intellectual policy of theCommunist Party of China. But by the influence of the special historical conditionsimpact, Mao Zedong made a serious mistake on the problem of intellectuals, whichhad negative implications for China’s socialist construction and the fate ofintellectuals, deviated from the original judgment of marxist class attribute forintellectuals. Therefore, Mao Zedong intellectuals thought also has its historicallimitations. The positive and negative experiences of intellectuals gave us a lot ofvaluable spiritual wealth. In the new era, we should understand Mao ZedongIntellectual Thought completely and accurately, learn from the historical experiences,formulate correct the policy of intellectuals, play the important role of intellectuals inthe construction of socialist modernization and build a harmonious socialist societybetter.
