On Griffin 's View Of Development

The21st century is the century of development. The development has become the worldtheme. Society, the rapid development has brought great wealth, but also led to crises such as theenvironment, ecological crisis which seriously affect human development. At the same time,Griffin as representative of constructive postmodernism had in-depth analysis for thesedifficulties of human society, and proposed organic-holism and the pen-empiricism as its core.From a development point of view of philosophy, Griffin critique of modern society andpostmodern society can be understood as a sketch on social development idea, a gridconstructive postmodern concept of development. From the perspective of developmentconcept,this paper analyze postmodernism of Griffin and try to sort out thoughts outlook ondevelopment, combined with the development of contemporary society, we should find areasonable practice, intentional revelation.By combing Griffin thought and study, Griffin outlook on development methodology can bediscussed and ontological.the Methodology organic theory of Griffin is the overall development,while Ontology is pen-empiricism. Overall organic theory is Griffin’s response to the plight ofmodern science. The overall organic theory depicts the basic methods of the post-modern science,while emphasize the need to consider a holistic approach to development issue. The extensiveexperience of modern society is against the dualistic ontology proposed by Griffin argues thatmodern social crisis, the deepest root is the "mind-matter dualism," the philosophical dilemmas,and ways to overcome this dilemma would is to establish a "pan empiricism." And right throughthe "pen-empiricism" in-depth analysis, we can find the overall development as Griffin organictheory provides an ontological proof. Pan empiricism also pointed out that the relationshipbetween things from universal connection between things "experience", which explains things inbetween "organic" links. In the study of organic-holism and pen-empiricism, Griffin’sconstructive postmodern thought gradually improved.The article also discarded the Griffin’s development through the perspective of Marxistphilosophy, and affirmed it’s positive significance in the concept of development relative to thenegativity post-modernism. The paper also affirmed it’s reasonable of methodological andontological; denied the mystical tendencies in thinking of Griffin and criticized the plight of its methodology and ontological knowledge predicament.In the final part, according to the development thought of Griffin and the actual situationof China in its special period of transformation and upgrading stage, the paper puts forward somepractice inspiration.
