A Study On The Motive And Present Situation Of Korean Nuclear Strategy

Since1945it appeared on the world stage, nuclear weapons play a very important role in international politics. During the cold war, great deterrent role of nuclear weapons maintained the Soviet-American "balance of terror", and after the collapse of the Soviet Union, many strategic analysts hope to reduce the effects of nuclear weapons in International Affairs, but that didn’t come true. Nuclear weapons had a trend of the emergence of horizontal proliferation. Several countries began to seek nuclear weapons, and North Korea was a member in a wave of nuclear proliferation. Since the North Korean nuclear issue surfaced in1990s, it became a prominent problems of contemporary international society.Due to North Korea’s unique geographical position and historical factors, the North Korean nuclear issue is not only a problem of nuclear proliferation, but also a regional security issues. North Korea is situated at the centre of a region that contains three of the world’s largest economies (the US, China and Japan), four established nuclear powers (the US, China, Russia and North Korea) and two countries with the technological ability to gain nuclear capabilities within months if they so wish (Japan and South Korea). That makes a complex benefit game interwoven on the North Korean nuclear issue, which affecting the settlement of the DPRK nuclear issue. So far, while the United Nations, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the States in the six-party talks are constantly trying to resolve the North Korea nuclear issue, but apparently is not optimal. North Korean nuclear issue has not only persisted, but also North Korea has successfully conducted three nuclear tests, nuclear technology has got some breakthroughs, therefore North Korea’s nuclear strategic objectives represents a major step forward. Why does this situation appear? How’s the prospect of the North Korean nuclear issue? This will be the focus of this paper.At first, this article analyzes North Korea’s guiding ideology of Foreign Affairs and the interior and the acts of nuclear diplomacy in recent years, to explore North Korea nuclear wishes. Judging from the present nuclear status, it’s hard to believe that North Korea has said the United States’ threats for North Korea is the decisive factor of making the nuclear option. It performs that North Korea is spontaneous and initiative to obtain nuclear weapons. That means North Korea nuclear choice is an established strategy. Secondly, subject to North Korea’s active nuclear, this article will explore the reasons for North Korea’s nuclear option. This is the premise of nuclear diplomacy’s ingenious design. In order to answer why the North Korean nuclear issue last more than20years have not resolved? This article analyses and discusses the reasons from both North Korea itself and the international community.At last, through analysis the cause of North Korea’s nuclear status quo to explore the North Korean nuclear issue’s future and the solutions.The innovation of this paper is that analysis the operation of North Korea’s nuclear strategy and the international community’s invalid denuclearization initiatives from the perspective of North Korea’s active nuclear, to discuss the causes of the current situation of North Korea’s nuclear issue. On this basis, explore the solution of the North Korean nuclear issue based on prospects for nuclear.
