As a basic protocol of the next generation of mobile Internet technology, mobile IPv6, shortly called MIPv6, provides a standard global mobility solution for full-IP mobile communication systems. But for the key issue of secure handover, current handover protocols mostly focus on reducing handover delay performance and seldom, or even never deal with handover security and authentication. In addition, with the popularity of group mobility, IETF puts forward NEMO (Network Mobility) basic support protocol RFC3963, which does not support route optimization communication mode and end-to-end security. Due to above problems, the following research based on MIPv6 has been done:Firstly, a handover authentication solution with fast handover protocol based on the modified IPsec secure structure is designed in this thesis. In this solution, identity authentication and key negotiation are accomplished by improved IKEv2 protocol and handover messages are protected by IPsec/SA, and thus both delay performance and network security are concerned. And then extend simulation platform NS-2 for the solution and analyze the simulation results, which shows that above solution provides good performance and quality of service with communication security included.Secondly, in this thesis NEMO relative protocols are also studied and a secure NEMO route optimization scheme based on the modified IPsec secure structure is designed. In the scheme, LFNs finish route optimization and mobile handover independently, nested NEMO structures seem to be flat by a special address configuration mechanism and using MIPsec implements all the end-to-end security between communication entities. After extending NS-2 for this scheme, simulation results are analyzed, which proves its priority to current NEMO route optimization schemes.
