As computers are widely apply, computer lab management system become a necessity. The system can effectively manage computers, and reduce the workload of staffs who work in the computer lab, which significantly improve efficiency. Since Xuzhou College of Industrial Technology was founded, management of the computer labs is becoming increasingly difficult, as the number of students grows and size of faculty expands. In order to upgrade our faculty's teaching skills and management skills, we have developed computer lab management system upon urgent request from the department of teaching staffs. This system models the management process of our faculty, and is built on a Client/Server structure and developed by Delphi and SQL. It meets the requirement of central management and huge amount of data processing, providing friendly interface, more user-friendly.This paper analyzes the current status of the management of computer labs at the universities, diagnoses various problems, and provides a solution that effectively manages the computer lab, which referenced Tsinghua University's solution to computer lab management and employed the systematic thinking and software engineering.UML is heavily used during the development of this system, especially in case diagram, class diagram, activity diagram, and sequence diagram, which describes the detailed design of this system and how the Client/Server structure is realized with Delphi. This paper consists of three parts. Firstly, the process of development is covered, including analysis of user requirement, feasibility, and business process; secondly, system design, which addresses the dividend of system, database design, and coding design; thirdly, implementation of system, which introduces the technology used to implement remote monitoring. This paper also proves it is feasible to integrate remote monitoring. It provides a platform that allows all people involved in a interactive lab management, which demonstrates the uniqueness, integrity, and value of this system.
