Today, China has become a big manufacturing country, a wide range of plants as have sprung up, so China won the title of world's factory. Great extent the development of the factory changed the lives of people and a strong impetus to China's modernization process. In order to facilitate the planning of the factory, needs to quickly adapt to market changes, planning techniques of the plant to become the current hot spots.In the traditional planning process, planning is usually done using physical equipment, such planning method requires a long time, high cost, poor accuracy, can't be flexible and timely manner to modify a program to extend the production cycle. Virtual reality technology in the factory Planning fundamentally changed the traditional planning and manufacturing model, making the actual layout of the production prior to simulate reality in a virtual environment production requirements, with the virtual model instead of the actual device to test its technology process and production cycle were calculated and evaluated to arrive at a solution optimized to reduce the development cycle and planning costs, competition in the market have the ability to respond rapidly to enable enterprises to become invincible.This paper describes the virtual planning system. Introduces the design framework and function modules, introduced some key algorithms and techniques which used in the system development. To gain a better understanding of this system, a example of production lines designed would be introduced. The main work is as follows:(1) This paper introduces a virtual laboratory which used to develop the virtual factory planning system, and introduced the laboratory's hardware devices and platforms, then a brief description of the platform works.(2) This paper introduces the general system architecture. System has two functional modules:the virtual simulation module and the model management module. This paper the system's structure is divided into three layers. System Interface Layer: the design of the interface and the rendering window; application layer:describes the design of the scene graph and event processing technology in this system; data layer: describes the model management system and scene data storage. (3) Introduced some of the key technologies using in the system; such as path planning, human motion, collision detection, three-dimensional display technology, and discusses the application of these technologies in the system.(4) This paper describes the advantages and applications of the factory production line, and describes the simulation of the virtual assembly line and theory to achieve in system.(5) This paper describes a example using the virtual factory planning system, set up a simple production line, and implementation of the assembly line production simulation operation.
