With the continuous development of computer technology in engineering applications,structural analysis, structural design and other more traditional mode of applications has madea huge leap forward. But the advanced computer technology in engineering structures has notused sufficient, which was also based on a semi-automated state. The performance ofstructural design and analysis looks not satisfactory in the visual, sensory areas. The goodvisual effects and interactive capabilities have lacked, and the operation has also complicatedat the same time. Therefore, the structural design of dynamic interactive three-dimensional isbound to become a kind of trend.Virtual reality technology is a kind of human-machine interface of advanced computerbased on immersion, interaction and ideas. This is an important technology in variousapplication areas of engineering structures. In this thesis, it was researched how to simulatethe structural analysis and immerse themselves of human in the computer-generated virtualenvironment. It can create a user-friendly multi-dimensional information space where mancan interact using the appropriate manner. The structure and its members as virtual model wasdesigned, and analyzed interactive features though the theory of internal force and dynamic.This thesis, it was analyzed the present situation of home and abroad virtual realitytechnical research worked, combined the both techniques organic to improve the currentissues of structural engineering. According to good interactive features of virtual realitytechnology, it was researched and explored how to implement a structural analysisenvironment of seeing, hearing, touching and other interactive ways, and how to use itsrendering capabilities of the virtual scene, a variety of dynamic interactive tools, and powerfulfeatures of programming design.In this paper, two modeling tools into each other in the application of engineeringstructure was given, and structural modeling was set using 3DS MAX modeling language and VRML. Structural model analysis and theory is combined to form a basic calculation andsimulation systems.Through the above process, using virtual reality technology, was respectively exploredand researched it from four aspects in this paper. First, the deformation of basic components,such as, bending, shear and torsion of the basic component was being tension andcompression after loading, etc. Second, the deformation analysis of structure under static loadhas been showed, such as, the internal force and deformation of the overall structure. Third,researching of structure dynamics based on virtual reality technology. Forth, methods ofbuilding structural model and form of structure have been discussed based on virtual realitytechnology, such as, structural reinforcement.
