The Study On Protocol Conformance Testing Based On TTCN-3

At present more and more protocol standards were established with the development of the next generation internet. Protocol standards are normally described using natural languages and different companies will make varied implementation for the different understanding with the same protocol standard. So how to make sure the correctness and validity of the implementation has been an important subject. Protocol testing is the most effective method to achieve this. Protocol conformance testing verifies the conformance between protocol implementation and protocol standard and it's the foundation of protocol testing.Testing description language is one of the base elements of protocol conformance testing standards. TTCN-3 is a new implementation of testing description language. It can test protocols with all levels. My subject is mainly involved in the research of protocol conformance testing technology based on TTCN-3. Take the internet game protocols as the objects of my research, find out the key technologies and the difficulties during using TTCN-3 and give the solution and implementation to these questions to simplify and easy the testing of this kind of protocols.The main works achieved in this subject include: analyze the procedures of conformance testing based on TTCN-3 and abstract the parts which can be reused;provide an implementation of the system under test adapter which developers can utilize directly or extend a customized function from it;design a decoding/encoding method which can be easy to use and provide three ways for developers who can chose any one according to their requirements;implement an integrate development environment of TTCN-3 which provides developers any useful functions related to TTCN-3 and can easy the development of TTCN-3 test suites;the testing of internet game protocol using the system implemented in this theme;in addition, this subject makes an experiment on MSC presentation of TTCN-3 and designs a basic framework which the next work can be based on.The system implemented in this theme can simplify the procedures of TTCN-3 development and improve the efficiency.
