The study on multi-agent system is one of hot subject of artificialintelligent. As long before people dream to use intelligent machine system tobe instead of human being to work. However, until last late century, with thedevelopment of computer technology and control theory, similar agent devicewith function of independence and autonomy appeared. Applying multi agenttheory to the measuring and controlling system is one of the latest develop ofindustry automation and software engineering. Up to now, the function ofindependence and autonomy were widely used for automatic production line ofworkshop, taking off and landing of aircraft, automatic speed regulation ofautomobile and autonomous behavior of robot, etc. This paper used thetechnology based on multi agent theory to study the design and realize of theprocess measuring and controlling system, viz. abstracted functional module ofsystem and independent task execution device into every agent and regardedwhole detection system as multi agent system, and through the structure andworking process of such agents and interaction, realized complete measuringand controlling system. The target is to establish a modularize structure ofdetection system which can apply to all sorts of industry environment, with thisstructure it is not only shortened the design period, but also improved theflexibility, action, stability and openness.During the design of process measuring and controlling system based onmulti agent。Firstly,established the three-layer detection system structuremodule according to the target, and then various agent was abstracted withfunctional modules and nodes according to function, structure and action in thesystem. Thus the whole system became multi agent system. Using multiagent method to design I/O, structure and work flow of each agent andcomplete design of whole multi agent system.In the multi agent system, it is very important to design and realize thecommunication. Based on the present of the industry field communication,design the system to a two-grade network communication, i.e. ,the managelayer and the field control layer use LAN to communicate with each other;inthe same time, the field control layer use field bus to communicate with sensorsand implement devices. If all of sensors and implement devices use field bus tocommunicate with field control layer, then correspond to stretch the agent tothe field detected node, and every task node will has the intelligence, so,guaranteed the realize of the multi agent system from the hardware. Atpresent, multi agent system has not its exploitation instrument, and uses theexploitation instrument based on object all the same. But, Using based onobject instrument to finish the multi agent system function design, even this isvery significant. VS.NET software is the system exploitation instrumentissued by the Microsoft Company in 2002. The .NET technology can realizethe function of the distant, active and real time detecting;With the UserControls technology of the VS.NET, it is convenient to design encapsulation ofagent;With the Multi-thread technology of the VS.NET, it can realize the multiagent working in the same time. In the last detection systems, applicationprogram ran on one threading, and operating system was working withthreading together, but they connected with each other through single threading.The multi threading technology of the VS.NET permits detection task andoperating system to run together, it is more beneficial to the applicationprogram running by the Internet communication, executing process control andcarrying out the data visiting.After adopting of the above structure and exploitation instrument, thesedesign methods were studied which adjusting the detection sequence at will atthe condition of not reworking the main program and detection tasks beingcarried out in the same time.It can be seen that adoption of the technology based on multi agent todesign detection system not only predigesting the realize detail of systemstructure and also reducing the human power , adding the intelligence of thesystem, improving the working efficiency of the system, and making thesystem to be more securable, more stable, and more effectual.There are notable advantages in the process measuring and controllingsystem based on multi agent:1) High modularization. Single agent can be expressed as a physics entitywith intelligence, for example detection meter, machine tool, function module,and a detection task;or expressed as abstract entity, for instance modulatearithmetic, function realizing interfaces. In the same time of all the agentsworking independently, they also complete system's detection task throughcooperating. This way not only decomposes system's task and simplifies thesystem's complexity in the course of design, but also reworks the design of thecorrelative modules and does not change the main program.2) High flexibility. The equipment's signal interface and detection logicrequests are different according to different producers;the physics sequence ofthe equipment and correlate detection logic are different;the change of thestandard of country will result in adding or reducing the task of detectionsystem and changing the detection methods;the local codes and the user'stastes are different. There are no news in the country about the system that cancomplete adapt to the above requests in the condition of not modifying thesoftware and hardware of the system. If the detection system does not adapt tothese change, it will be happened that the detection system existing period isshortened and user's interest is destroyed. The process measuring andcontrolling system based on multi agent technology can solve these abovequestions effectively.3) High open. The process measuring and controlling system based onmulti agent is a open system, and it can add or reduce the number of agent onthe base of the stable main structure, this is beneficial to the expand andupgrade of the system.In the fourth chapter of this paper, the technology based on multi agentwas applied to the safe performance detection of car. The safe performancedetection of car is a check of the technology ability or working ability of car. Itaims to judge and ascertain that technology status of car, and supplytechnology guarantee to the car management, environment protection, carmaintain. So, it is pursuing direction of the design of the performance detectionof car within country that thinking much to the innovation of car check line,and improving the precision, stability and efficiency of detection。Presently,there are a lot of shortens in the performance detection system of car withincountry. Most of representation are these: taking the realization of function asthe main aim and not thinking about the specially knowledge encapsulation ofinstallation, debugging, running, and maintaining, viz., it is not convenient tocosmically popularize and system inter-linkage within industry because thedegree of the intelligence of interface, the configuration and theself-organization are low. When the system structure had been designed basedon multi agent, the true realization of the software and the hardware adoptedfollowing technology: taking the LAN and CAN bus as the net supportedtechnology, taking the VS.NET as the software exploitation instrument ofmulti agent system, So, the integer design of the system had been finished.Then, the function of the task being done in the same time, the sequence beingadjusted at will and field control PC. Being standby each other were finishedby the software exploitation.
