Implement And Research Based On Controlling (CO) Module Of SAP System

Enterprise Resource Management (ERP) system as one of the most importantinformation-based tool is favored by many companies, and it’s features on criticalmeans to improve enterprise management level. As one of the most outstanding ERPsystem, the core value of SAP R/3system is reflected in the pragmatic, professionaland systematic. ERP system inputs the modern management idea into the systemdesign, treats guidance cooperate management as the principle, and adapts themanagement of the company initiatively. Under this background, YS companydecides to implement SAP R/3Enterprise Resource Management system accordingto the characteristics of its manufacturing industry.Controlling (CO) module provides simultaneous information about revenue andcost for manager and help them improve the speed and quality of business decisions.This module is the most important in the SAP R/3system, and controlling module inSAP R/3system is a independent, it can provide accurate information through datamutual integration and sharing with other modules of SAP R/3system. Controllingmodule is elite module of SAP R/3system too.This paper investigates CO module in SAP R/3system based on my personalworking experience of the implementation SAP system in YS company. It looks intothe given research outcomes and literatures from the standpoint of theory andpractice, integrating the knowledge of management information system, softwareengineer, management accounting and other subjects. First, expatiating the researchbackground and significance of this paper. Secondly, introducing the basicframework and system characteristics of SAP and systemic analyzing the function ofCO module, including the concept of the controlling module structure and theprocess of calculating the cost in SAP. Thirdly; investigating status and shortage ofprevious system in YS company, providing to improvement measures and relatedproject preparation work. Fourthly, discussing business blueprint; and in-depthexploring implementation of controlling module business blueprint in YS company.Fifthly, since SAP R/3system is a universal, standardized system, the necessaryconfiguration should be done in SAP R/3realization process by SAP consultantaccording to confirmed business blueprint. Therefore, the paper introduces the basisconfiguration of CO module, and some issues should be noted in configurationprocess. Finally, discussing the final preparation work before the SAP system online. In China, there is a lack of researching literature related to CO module in SAP/3System. Based on advanced ideas and concepts of this system, the paper can providesome valuable advices and useful references combined with YS companyimplementation case. It will be benefit on promoting China’s enterprises informationtechnology.
