The Achievement Of Streaming Media On Wireless Networks And Analysis Of Its QOS

The mobile streaming media service has the core characteristics of the 3G It has been achieved successfully on the networks of China Unicom at the 2.5G phase. Based on the high-speed data transmission of the network of cdma-1x, Image being able to watch TV and movie on line, appreciate news and various of entertainment programs, sport programs, or video on demand, the mobile streaming service enables end-user to access services like these, and more. After the 3G networks are available in china, the mobile streaming service will become the killer application for 3G.This thesis systemically analyzed the the application of the mobile streaming media service of China Unicom based on the cdma-lx networks. There are special QoS questions that streaming media transmission suffers high packet loss ratio and low throughput because of the high bit error ratio and mobility in wireless environment. Neither sole network QoS guarantee scheme nor adaptive transmission technology in end systems can entirely solve the QoS questions of streaming media transmission in wireless environment.
