Research On Video Transmission System Based On Wireless Network

With the development of network communication and multimedia Technology,especially the development of video compression technology,video transmission becomes the most important service of IP network. Comparing with the wired network,WLAN(wireless local area network) takes advantage in conveniency,cost and agility.It is highly practical to develop video transmission technology over WLAN.Implemented a basic video transmission system on the basis of DirectShow framework. The system used MPEG-1 codec and TCP stack. Detailed analysis of the adaptive control of video transmission, including congestion control, quality adaptation, and error control. An adaptive transmission control mechanism based on RTP protocol has been designed and implemented in this paper. With this mechanism the streaming transmission can get more bandwidth utility, less packet loss ratio and some fairness with TCP-flows.Conclusion is given at the end and the improvement is set forth for the further research.
