The meteorological monitoring is very important in the human's life. The high altitude meteorological monitoring senses the air directly and gets the meteorological data which is more accurate and reliable. The radiosonde system is mostly used in the high altitude meteorological monitoring. The radiosonde system's core is the radiosonde, and the radiosonde's core is the meteorological sensor. The MEMS or micro-system technology begins to be used in the meteorological monitoring, because of its small volume, low cost, high reliability and other features. The meteorological monitoring micro-system can be widely used in the automatic weather station, the portable weather station and the radiosonde system.We analyze the development status in quo of the radiosonde system, and consider the actual application demand and system performance, we introduce the whole system's structure and design flow in both hardware design and software design.The hardware design includes CMOS MEMS meteorological sensors, signal processing circuits, radiosonde interface circuit and the block of data acquisition and processing. We make the sensors using standard CMOS process and MEMS post-process technique, and design the PCB layout using Protel 99Se software. We accomplish the whole system hardware design.The software design includes C8051F310 program design and software functional modules design, including data acquisition, data operation, data process, data display and data communication. We design the software codes using the Silicon Laboratories IDE and assembly language.On the basis of system software and hardware design, we test the sensors and the system. The results show that the meteorological monitoring micro-system used in the radiosonde system accords with the design target and demand performance. System operation temperature range is from -40℃to +60℃. Temperature test range is from -40℃to +60℃, accuracy is±0.2℃. Humidity test range is from 0% to 100%, accuracy is±3%RH. Pressure test range is from 870hPa to 1080hPa, accuracy is±5hPa.Finally, we test the whole radiosonde system on the spot in Beijing. The test lasts one hour, and gets 1800 group radiosonde effective data which have a period of 2 seconds. This test validates the feasibility of this meteorological monitoring micro-system used in the radiosonde system, realizes the high altitude meteorological monitoring and receives the radiosonde data successfully which accord with the actual high altitude meteorological information.The most creative point of this meteorological monitoring micro-system used in the radiosonde system is that we adopt our own CMOS MEMS meteorological sensors, and apply them in the actual radiosonde. The results of the tests show that the meteorological monitoring micro-system used in the radiosonde system accords with the design target and demand performance. The MEMS technology begins to be used in the meteorological monitoring. With the development of ASIC and DSP technology, the meteorological monitoring micro-system will become the mainstream direction of radiosonde technology.
