The Study On How To Use News Media In Public Diplomacy Of China

Characters of news media such as fast and facility of extensive spread make it become one of the most effective means by which public diplomacy works well. By using news media, Chinese government can show true circs and explain the foreign policy to the people. Influencing public opinion effectively in our own country and others, the aim of public diplomacy is to affect international public opinion and earn public's support. Public diplomacy is also propitious to build good image of the country and monitor global opinion. To safeguard our country's interests, we should pay much attention to the functions of news media in public diplomacy of China.In China, it's just a beginning to use public diplomacy and there is capacious room to exploit. The main object of this study focuses on employing news media in public diplomacy of China with international audiences. The author tries to analyze the basic conditions of using news media and the importance of it in public diplomacy of China. The thesis describes some shortages and problems on how to use news media in public diplomacy of China, it also discusses some suggestions and countermeasures on it.
