| Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is a kind of high-resolution imaging radar.It can getthe image of targets in all-weather and all-day situation.Different from optical imaging system,the SAR system must process the raw data complicatedly before getting the image of a target.Inthe past, the image was always derived by post-processing as the limitation of performancehardware. With the development of high-performance digital hardware, the real-time processingof SAR image can be realized on board of plane or satellite.This paper introduces the basictheory of real-time processing of SAR image, describes the design of hardware and software forthe main-control and displaying subsystem of a real-time SAR processor.The main-control and displaying subsystem is an important part of the real-time SARprocessor.It setups the processor's imaging modes parameters and displays or records thereal-time image sequences.This paper presents the designs of the subsystem based on ETXmodule, which is a kind of embedded computer module. The design adopts the mechanicalstructure of VME, but the bus's signal is user-defined. ISA bus is used as the control bus.PCIcard based on PCI9054 is developed to interchange data with ETX module.The ETX modulereads image data into system memory through the PCI card, then displays the image on thescreen in real-time mode.The ETX module also controls other subsystems of the processorreal-timely.The development of the software for the hardware under Windows XP is presented in thispaper, including PCI9054 driver, ISA bus driver, real-time SAR image displaying program andmain control program. The real-time SAR image displaying program calls the PCI9054 driver toread image data from PCI card by DMA mode. The main control program calls ISA driver tocontrol other subsystems through ISA bus.The design has many futures: compact structure, easy operation, flexible use, strongtransplantablity.The set of equipment has been used in a real-time SAR processor successfully. |
