Instant Messaging (IM) Communication is a new technology that has been developed rapidly in recent years, which has widely used in many fields as its convenient and instant characteristics. Instant Messaging communication can instantly exchange information with many media form, such as text,picture,voice, video and so on, through the networks or other communicated lines. Instant Messaging Communication using in Military is much more needed and important, because of its strict requirement in the time.In order to satisfy the requirement of instant messaging communication in the PLA's Command Automation System, the thesis mainly focuses on the theoretics and problems of instant messaging communication, and involves in advance research of key technology for constructing the peer-to-peer (P2P) Military Instant Messaging System.Firstly, the actuality and development of modern Instant Messaging Communication are introduced in the thesis. And then, the instant data transmission and control technology, instant data security technology, data compression and decompression technology and user presence status delay technology are also discussed in all details. By using all of above technologies, the Instant Messaging data can be transmitted in an efficient, exact and security way.Based on the analysis of transmission and control technology of instant data in Internet, the Author bring forward a new project of Military Instant Data transmission and control, That is, P2P based Instant Messaging architecture.This thesis also researches security technology on public communication line. Aiming at encrypt/decrypt technology, compression/decompression technology and user presence status delay technology, the five-layer conception model is put forward which includes user application unit, data encapsulation unit, security communication unit, instant control unit and transmission unit.By comparing C/S pattern, and To resolve the problems of C/S pattern, such as server's bottle neck and unstable communication service, it is the P2P technology that can improve communication quality. Then a complete P2P scheme has been bring forward in this paper.Lastly, the realization technology of the P2P Military Instant Messaging System is mainly introduced. All functions of the general instant data transmission and control technology are completely implemented in our P2P system. Depending on the Special Military Network, we design a new protocol proxy to ensure the safety of our P2P system. We also design and implement the session initial protocol ,and deliver a formal description of this protocol, the compression and decompression of voice data, the measurement of peer presence delay and the instant message address resolution are also implemented in this system.
