College's teaching material management system is an important part of college's educational management,it involves everyone in college. There are numerous data and much work in the system,so the rationality of system embodies the efficiency of college's educational department. The traditional management not only wasted much time and needed much work,but also caused many mistakes,so we need manage teaching materials with computer. In this way the administer can get information rapidly,thus quickening the modernization progress of college's educational management. It is very important to strengthen the college's teaching material management system with computer.The teaching material management can be divided into four parts:course arrangement, purchase of teaching material,stock management and the distribution of teaching material.Course arrangement includes class arragement, teaching plan. Purchase of teaching material includes teaching material information management, demand statistics and teaching material purchase. Stock management includes teaching material being put in storage, stock statistics, and stock inquiry, cost computation. The distribution of teaching material includes distribution according to courses, distribution to individuals, distribution to teachers and the retail selling of the materials.Software architecture is an important orientation of software engineering. Good architecture design has already been a major factor determining the success of a complex system. This article establishes the business model of Shazhou college's teaching material management,analyzes the function module, uses unified modeling language building the software architecture model ,finally designs the management system.The design of system adopts the integration of the traditonal C/S (Client/Server) mode and the popular B/S (Browser/Server) mode. They share the same background database. C/S mode has strong capability of real-time application, which is suitable for the real-time handling of the database and large amount of data update. It is realized by using VB. B/S mode thus enables it to be closeconnected to almost all local area network; it does not necessary to install client station; itsinterface is standardized (browser); its operation is relatively simple because it has adopted "thin client station" technology. It is realized by using JSP+Struts frame.
