| The evolution tendency of mobile communication networks is packet switching, intelligent control and broadband transmission. Since the development of 3G network to all IP structure is a gradual process, the SS7 signaling transport over IP signaling is always a key issue discussed in a long time. SG (Signaling Gateway) is right a signaling agent which receives/sends SS7 signaling at the edge of the IP network. The SG function may relay, translate or terminate SS7 signaling at the gateway between TDM based PSTN and soft-switching based MGC. SG appears in NGN architecture validates that signaling can be successfully transported by IP protocol among network nodes.This thesis has studed and developed the internal SG function performed by Alcatel-Lucent Spatial AtriumTM 7570MGW. This SG follows IETF SIGTRAN protocol and MII tele-communication device technical specification strictly. The product is designed based on the advanced ATCA and Tomix platform. In the paper, the evolution of IP signaling network is firstly introduced, then the application functions and system design architecture of SG is analyzed. The primitive mechanism of SG core function-NIF (Nodal Interworking Function) is researched in detail and the MIB structure is defined clearly. Moreover, a sample approach of MTP-3 distributor is also represented. The Tomix platform test, lab load test and reality implementation to verify SG functions and performances is described in the end.In this thesis, Chapter 1 shows the background, Chapter 2 introduces NGN and IP signaling network evolution. Chapter 3 provides SG application requirements and Chapter 4 describes the system architecture. Chapter 5 mainly studies the detailed mechanism of SG core function-NIF. The last Chapter represents the whole product test procedure. |
