With the rapid development of computer technology, micro-electronics technology and network technology, embedded system has been widely applied in the field of measurement & control. The detecting and controlling, information process and network communication of embedded system have a remarkable effect on performance of measurement & control system. Therefore, it is very meaningful to develop a general platform which is used in measurement & control system and has good expansibility, develop ability and reliability.In this paper, a general control platform based on embedded operating system VxWorks and PC/104 bus has been developed. Hardware of the platform is PC/104 main board with X86 CPU and some expanding module such as multi-serial card and data acquisition card, and software is running VxWorks operating system, with relevant device drive. The platform has supplied detecting and controlling, real time processing, data storage and communication.PC/104 bus which is miniaturization and stack is convenient for (?)p(?)unding hardware. High reliability and perfect real time performance of VxWorks operating system ensures system stabilization, furthermore, good flexibility of VxWorks is convenient for second development. The design of double net cards ensures reliability of network communication.The platform, designed especially for embedded system, which has low power, small volume, high reliability and high integration and broad operation temperature can be used in national defense electrics, onboard equipment, communication, industry locale control and other systems.
