LXI is the new generation bus for test system, which is based on using Ethernet technology. LXI is the instrument bus standard , converaging on the standard, protocol, commends, specification and etc., used for Ethernet communication. In terms of the realization for a LXI instruments, the most important part is the design of the communication module of LXI instruments, besides the essential function for test and measure. On the basis of the development trend of network test system, this article show a design of intelligentized LXI interface module based on 32bit ARM7 MCU----LPC2368 to meet the requirement of China's self-developed LXI device ,after investigating the technology route for improving traditional instruments to the LXI, which aims at the situation that RS232,GPIB etc is also the primary interface of traditional instruments which can not construct extent test system. For the hardware design, the article chiefly expatiate on the method to improve RS232 , GPIB to RJ45 and USB; It use the embedded OS technology such as scale , transplant and embedded function module in the software design. The module implements the TCP/IP transplant for the C class. The data could be observed by IE browser. The disquisition also presents how to realize IEEE1588 PTP protocol with the hardware resource of the module. The application result of the module prove that the module has rational framework and high reliability. The difficulty and the solutions are introduced clearly in the article. In the end, the article gives some suggestions for improving the LXI interface module which will make the function of the module more powerful.
