CMTS Access Network User Authentication Services And Control

With the rapid development of HFC technology and the two-way HFC network transformation project, the prospect of the CMTS-based broadband access technologies in China is bright.The biggest problem of CMTS access network is the security of user authentication and authorization; therefore, in the operation of HFC broadband network services, CMTS access network user authentication has become a problem which needs to be solved urgently.This thesis reviews the status of CMTS access network and the DOCSIS standards, analyzes and compares the current technologies of user authentication, and proposes a DHCP+Web authentication solution based on the characteristics of CMTS access network.Then, some of the impelemention methods are also introduced.The kye part of the thesis begins from the third chapter. According to the CMTS access network operating environment, the thesis gives a comprehensive analysis of the CMTS access system, aiming at the inherent difficulties exiting in DHCP+Web, such as the offline detection, DHCP policy and so on. A series of measures and methods are put forward, and the outline design of the CMTS access system user authentication services and control system is also proposed, which consists with user's needs and the design requirements.In the end, the thesis designed and fulfiled an instance of the CMTS access network user authentication system, which proved the feasibility of the design concepts. According to the results of the tests, the system can be carried out in test operation.
